Our Team

We are a team of three undergraduate Georgetown students fighting for justice.

Joining our two professors, Dr. Marc Howard and Marty Tankleff, we are working alongside world-class experts
and Georgetown students to build a case to exonerate a wrongfully convicted individual.

Michelle Dubovitsky

Michelle is a Senior in Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service from Rockville, Maryland. Majoring in International Politics and Security Studies while leading the Mock Trial team, Michelle hopes to attend law school to eventually represent victims of financial crimes.

Cynthia Garcia

Born and raised in Southern New Jersey, Cindy is a Senior at Georgetown. As an American Studies major with a Theology minor, Cindy intends on pursuing immigration law. In this role, she hopes to bring legal services and advocacy to her hometown community.

Frances Trousdale

Frances is a Junior at Georgetown studying History with minors in Justice and Peace Studies and Philosophy. She hopes to return to her home in New York City to pursue policy work advocating for criminal legal reform and federal de-carceration.

Making an Exoneree is an extraordinary and unprecedented program. Every spring semester since 2018, a group of highly motivated Georgetown University undergraduate students reinvestigate likely wrongful conviction cases, produce short documentaries that suggest innocence, and create social media campaigns calling for exonerations.
